Wheeeeee PLOP! game ~ sound exploring

Here's a silly sound game. All you need is a cardboard tube, a tin tray and any number of small toys to slide down inside and make a lovely din! Tape two cardboard tubes together if you only have short ones. We decorated ours with gold paper and cut-out leaves. It needs to be wide enough for small toys like a train or car to roll down inside - or in this case our two bunny and frog friends.

Put one end of the tube into a tin tray, raise the other end at a steepish angle.

Hop frog up the outside of the tube from the bottom to the top as you sing to the tune of 'The bear went over the mountain'/'For he's a jolly good fellow')

The frog hopped up to the mountain top, The frog hopped up to the mountain top, The frog hopped up to the mountain top___________And (slide frog down the inside of the tube)

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee......... PLOP!

Oh, the bunny hopped up to the mountain top, The bunny hopped up to the mountain top, The bunny hopped up to the mountain top___________And (drop bunny down the inside of the tube)

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee......... PLOP!

For louder sound effects try rolling toy cars, trains, balls, plastic bricks, and so on down the tube and change the words accordingly. When baby knows what to expect, sit her at the PLOP end of the tube so she can fully enjoy the anticipation:

The train drove up to the mountain top,

The train drove up to the mountain top,

The train drove up to the mountain top___________And,

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...PLOP!
