Valentine's Day Lavender and Roses

Lavender song and lavender flowers

The lyric of Lavender’s Blue goes back a very long way in British folk history - at least as far as the 1600s.

It has been attached to different melodies over centuries, has been sung in many continents and in just about every musical style. And it has been claimed by grown ups and children alike ~ and in our case by babies.

This version, best-known as a nursery song, makes it a tender lullaby, especially

as sung by Sandra Kerr and Leon Rosselson for Sleepytime Playsongs, our restful collection of songs and rhymes for babies and toddlers.
