Wee Willie Winkie is well known as a nursery song or rhyme, but usually only one verse is remembered. That's how it appears in many nursery rhyme books. But there's a lot more than that, which the mischievous wee lad got up to in the full version of the song. Here we give you the whole Scots poem written by William Miller in the 19th century. Find it in Playsongs Grand Sleepover, sung by Janet Russell. Everyone will recognise the antics of a little toddler not ready for bed yet. I wonder if William was himself that toddler, nicknamed Willie Winkie?
